The Compact for Dumfries and Galloway is a written agreement which defines the relationship between the voluntary and community sector (also known as the “Third Sector”) and public sector bodies. Download a copy of the Compact here.
The Compact will allow the Third Sector to influence public policy, making full use of the experience and ideas out there in our communities. The Compact outlines the shared principles for public sector and voluntary/community organisations to work together, including commitments from each side on working to provide better services for the people of Dumfries & Galloway.

Compact Launch November 2008
The Compact Implementation Group is planning to raise awareness of the Compact throughout 2009 and recently held four local Compact consultation events. Download the reports from each event here.
The Implementation Group will use feedback from the four events to develop an action plan for the Compact, including ways to monitor progress. Our statutory partners are keen to work with the Third Sector and have appointed the members of the Community Planning Joint Management Team as Compact Champions. Download information on Compact Champions here.
A Compact Record Form has been developed to allow partners to log good practice examples and highlight areas for improvement. Voluntary & Community Compact Record Form; Public Sector Compact Record Form; and Using the Compact Record Form. For more details contact our Executive Officer Joyce Harkness. If your organisation would like to sign up to the Compact NOW, please download the template sign up letter here and return this to Joyce.
